Is the treatment safe for my family?

My "treatment" is a simple, manual process using oil and a comb to remove any lice and nits. There are no pesticides, no smelly chemicals, and nothing that isn't found in everyday hair and cosmetic products. It is safe for everyone, including babies, seniors, and pregnant people.

I use oil made from a mix of olive oil and dimethicone (lice oil). Dimethicone is a silicone-based oil found in hair products and cosmetics, and is used as a thickening agent. If a client is allergic to silicone, I often recommend using coconut oil as an alternative (however, dimethicone helps the oil stick to the hair and makes the process go faster, with less mess, which is why it is preferred).

Once oil is thoroughly coated through the hair, lice and nits can be removed properly. Once removed from a person's head, they are unable to survive for very long (24-36 hours maximum). Lice that has been removed from clients' heads are tossed into a trash can.

No need to worry after that - lice are not clever. They are not climbing through your house to find their way back to your head. Once lice have been removed, your problem is solved safely for everyone in your family!
